This is your opportunity to step into the Tudor way of life at historic Hampton Court Palace and beautiful Hever Castle: Your Tudor Day!
Follow in the footsteps of King Henry VIII and his wives; Cardinal Wolsey and the nobility of the king’s court; and even where the Boleyn family lived. – All on the same day.
You’ve heard the stories: The love, the distrust, the plots, the politics and, of course, the executions.
Venture through these remarkable locations which witnessed the unpredictable and turbulent events of the Tudors.
From the Haunted Gallery at Hampton Court Palace, where Catherine Howard pleaded for her life; to the tranquillity of Hever Castle’s gardens where an infamous king fell in love with a Boleyn girl a few years earlier.
“…I will love you for the rest of your life…” certainly makes one think how tenuous things were for the women who caught the king’s eye.
Put the hectic pace of 21st-century life behind you and experience something unique and memorable by having a private day tour to the Tudor aspects of King Henry VIII’s Hampton Court and Anne Boleyn’s Hever Castle.
John will share many of those Tudor insights with you, including taking you to the beautiful Weald of Kent, (King Henry VIII’s hunting grounds), on your way to stunning Hever Castle, the former seat of the Boleyn family.
N.B. For the Hampton Court Palace tour, only the Tudor parts of the palace will be covered, including the gardens. The palace is huge so, to ensure time for Hever Castle, we won’t be covering the baroque, (King William III and Mary II), sections of the palace.
Please enquire if you only wish to visit Hampton Court Palace or Hever Castle as individual private tours.
The approximate total tour duration is 9 hours during the Spring / Summer months; 8 hours during the late Autumn / Winter months due to the respective venues’ opening hours.
#LetLondonBreathe and avoid the stresses of the city centre’s notoriously heavy traffic. – John will collect you by car at Bromley South station, in London’s suburbs, where your private tour starts. He will drive you through the London suburbs, for approximately 90 minutes, to Hampton Court Palace. (Alternatively, you have the option to meet John at Hampton Court Palace if you prefer to travel to Hampton Court station by train from London’s Waterloo station). John will then drive you for about 90 minutes through the scenic countryside, including some Kent villages, and on to Hever.
