This is your opportunity to travel back in time and discover the Tudor way of life! We’ll visit two great English historic locations: Hampton Court Palace and the beautiful Hever Castle. Your very own Tudor tour of England.
You’ve heard the stories: the love, the distrust, the conspiracies, the politics, and, of course, the executions. On our guided tour, you will travel inside Hampton Court Palace to retrace the footsteps of King Henry VIII and his wives. (You can read more about the history of Hampton Court over on our blog.)
Uncover the plots and power struggles of Cardinal Wolsey. Get to know the nobles and rogues of the king’s court. Visit the very place where the Boleyn family lived. All in one day!
Experience history coming into focus as never before as you venture through these remarkable locations which witnessed the unpredictable and turbulent events of the Tudor age.
From the Haunted Gallery at Hampton Court Palace, where Catherine Howard pleaded for her life, to the tranquillity of Hever Castle’s gardens where an infamous king fell in love with a certain Boleyn girl a few years earlier. (Head to our blog to discover more with our Guide to Hever Castle.)
The words “I will love you for the rest of your life” certainly make one contemplate how fraught things were for the women who caught the king’s eye.
Put the bustle of 21st-century life behind you and experience something truly unique and unforgettable on this private day tour exploring the Tudor world of King Henry VIII’s Hampton Court and Anne Boleyn’s Hever Castle.
John will share many of those Tudor insights with you, including taking you to the beautiful Weald of Kent (King Henry VIII’s hunting grounds) on your way to stunning Hever Castle, the former seat of the Boleyn family.
N.B. For the Hampton Court Palace tour, only the Tudor parts of the palace, including the gardens, will be explored on our trip. The enormity of the palace means we won’t cover the Baroque (King William III and Mary II) sections of the palace — this is to ensure we’ve enough time to enjoy the splendour of Hever Castle!
